Now pay attention everyone, this is important....
Hair Fx has just joined The Green Salon Collective, the what??? I hear you say, well let me explain....
The Green Salon Collective started in the UK and Ireland last summer, which was a difficult time to commence a business in the hairdressing sector, given salons were closed for so much of last year.
So what is it all about?
The Green salon Collective has been created with a view to enable salons to be more ethical and sustainable, for not only the salon, but for the stylists and salon guests also. They do this by recycling every item of waste generated in the salon, which benefits our industry, community and the environment
This means that when you visit Hair Fx, everything from the hair we cut, to the foil we use, any left over colour etc., will all be recycled. So every visit to our salon will not only benefit you and your wellbeing, but will also help our environment.
In salon, we will have several bins for the different items that we will recycle, for example, all the hair we cut will go into a bin exclusively for hair, this hair will then go on to make booms, that will collect oil spills from water, it will also be used for garden composting. Any hair that is suitable, will be passed on to the Little Princess Trust, who provide real hair wigs for free to children that have lost their hair due to illness.
Metals, like foils from highlighting, tint tubes and cans, will all go into another bin especially for metal, 100% of which will be recycled.
All plastics, including those we usually can't recycle will be recycled. The more salons that join the Green Salon Collective, the better for all of us. The profits from GSC will go to Hair & Beauty Charity, Haircuts 4 Homeless and Foodcycle, so by visiting a sustainable salon you are also helping to care for those less fortunate.
I am so looking forward to reopening the salon whenever we get the word from the powers that be, and chatting further about our new way of hairdressing🥰
